De Aston Martin Virage Volante: naast de imposante naam is het een van de snelste cabriolets van zijn tijd. Mede door het geringe productieaantal van slechts ca. 230 exemplaren is het model tegenwoordig een begeerde en waardevolle youngtimer. Dit exemplaar is op 14 mei 1993 nieuw geleverd in Hamburg door Aston Martin dealer 'Car & Driver GMBH'. Hij is nu afkomstig van deze eigenaar die de auto bij een Aston Martin specialist heeft onderhouden. Dit is ingevuld in het originele onderhoudsboekje, waar ook andere onderhoudsbeurten in zijn genoteerd. Het is duidelijk te zien dat de Aston Martin altijd in bezit is geweest van liefhebbers: hij bevindt zich in zeer goede conditie. Dit blijkt ook uit een Duits taxatierapport uit 2021: de auto is in elk opzicht (carrosserie/chassis, lakwerk, chroom- en sierdelen, afdichtingen, glas, banden, interieur zitgedeelte, motorruimte, motor en kofferruimte) als goed tot uitstekend beoordeeld. De kleurencombinatie van het zwarte lakwerk 'Cannock Black' en rood interieur met zwarte stiksels is fraai en stijlvol, in tegenstelling tot veel andere exemplaren met vaak opvallende kleuren. Deze met de hand gebouwde Virage is voorzien van een 5.3-liter V8 die 335 pk levert en de auto in 6,0 seconden naar 100 km/u sprint. Een fantastische combinatie van sportiviteit en comfort. Naast een heerlijke rijdersauto is deze 'gentleman's car'.
Algemene informatie over de Aston Martin Virage Volante
De 2+2 Virage volgde in 1989 de tweedeurs V8 op. Het was het eerste compleet nieuwe Aston Martin model in 20 jaar tijd. Er was direct veel vraag: de eerste productiejaren waren binnen de kortste keren uitverkocht. Dit model was een grote stap voorwaarts kijkend naar veiligheid, comfort en prestaties. Het was het kostbare en handgebouwde vlaggenschip uit de Aston Martin range en werd in 2000 opgevolgd door de Vanquish. Sommige onderdelen zijn ontleend van andere auto's, zo zijn de koplampen afkomstig van een Audi 200 en de achterlichten van een Volkswagen Scirocco. De carrosserie is gebouwd van aluminium. Ook de motor is handgebouwd door Tenny Durston. Deze motor werd geprezen door zijn prestaties en fantastische geluid. Veel beroemdheden hadden een Virage in bezit, onder meer Rowan Atkinson, Lennox Lewis, Elton John and Chris Eubank. De cabrioletversie 'Volante' werd gebouwd vanaf 1992, waarvan slechts ca. 230 exemplaren zijn gebouwd en waarvan 120 exemplaren links-gestuurd. Een goed exemplaar wordt dan ook steeds schaarser en zijn de afgelopen jaren in prijs gestegen.

The Aston Martin Virage Volante: besides its imposing name, it is one of the fastest convertibles of its time. Partly due to its small production run of only about 230 examples, the model is a coveted and valuable youngtimer today. This example was delivered new on 14 May 1993 in Hamburg by Aston Martin dealer 'Car & Driver GMBH'. It now comes from this owner who has maintained the car at an Aston Martin specialist. This is entered in the original service booklet, in which other servicing is also noted. It is clear to see that the Aston Martin has always been owned by enthusiasts: it is in very good condition. This is also evident from a German valuation report from 2021: the car was assessed as good to excellent in every respect (bodywork/chassis, paintwork, chrome and trim parts, seals, glass, tyres, interior seating, engine compartment, engine and boot). The colour combination of black paintwork 'Cannock Black' and red interior with black stitching is beautiful and stylish, unlike many other examples with often striking colours. This hand-built Virage is equipped with a 5.3-litre V8 that produces 335 hp and the car sprints to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds. A fantastic combination of sportiness and comfort. Besides being a great driver's car, this is a 'gentleman's car'.
General information about the Aston Martin Virage Volante
The 2+2 Virage succeeded the two-door V8 in 1989. It was the first completely new Aston Martin model in 20 years. Demand was immediately high: the first production years were sold out in no time. This model was a big step forward looking at safety, comfort and performance. It was the expensive and hand-built flagship of the Aston Martin range and was succeeded by the Vanquish in 2000. Some parts were borrowed from other cars, for example the headlights were taken from an Audi 200 and the rear lights from a Volkswagen Scirocco. The body is built from aluminium. The engine was also hand-built by Tenny Durston. This engine was praised for its performance and fantastic sound. Many celebrities owned a Virage, including Rowan Atkinson, Lennox Lewis, Elton John and Chris Eubank. The convertible 'Volante' version was built from 1992, of which only about 230 were built and 120 of which were left-hand drive. A good one is therefore becoming increasingly scarce and have risen in price in recent years.
