Ownership & Provenance
The car was originally delivered through Maranello Concessionaires Ltd and supplied new by Roadfield Motors, Belfast, on 1st September 1990 to Mr C. F. Cairns of Helen’s Bay, Northern Ireland.
During his ownership, the Testarossa was maintained by Maranello Concessionaires and Charles Hurst Ferrari, Belfast, before being sold through Charles Hurst to Mr M. McKinstry of Lisburn on 4th March 1996.
The car subsequently passed to Mr Andrew Latimer of Carrickfergus, who sold it in early 1998 to Mr Robert Gyle.
Mr Gyle retained the Testarossa for approximately 15 years, storing it in a heated garage and covering just 800 miles throughout his ownership. Following this extended period of careful storage, the car underwent recommissioning in September 2011, including a full service and cambelt replacement.
On 21st March 2013, the Testarossa was purchased by Mr J. Hughes from renowned Ferrari specialists Simon Furlonger Specialist Cars.
The Ferrari joined Mr Hughes’ distinguished private collection, which included a Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing and Aston Martin DB6, amongst other significant motor cars.
On 16th December 2021, Mr Hughes gifted the Testarossa to his son, Mr Richard Hughes, ensuring its continued place within the family.
Throughout the Hughes family’s ownership, the car has been maintained by respected Ferrari specialists Italia Autosport of West Yorkshire, with an impressive succession of documented annual services and important scheduled maintenance.
